Two Candidates Face Off for Kern County Board of Education Trustee Area 7 Seat
October 2, 2026 - 08:09
Lori Cisneros and Ernie Bell Jr. met Thursday night for a debate covering the issues facing the Kern County Board of Education in Trustee Area 7. The discussion, carried on KGET, gave voters a direct look at where the two candidates stand on the challenges ahead for the board.
A third candidate, Jeanine Adams, was scheduled to take part but told the station she could not attend because of illness. Her absence left Cisneros and Bell as the only voices on the stage, narrowing the focus to their competing visions for the seat.
The debate was recorded on Oct. 1, 2026. With the election approaching, the exchange offered residents in Trustee Area 7 a chance to weigh the priorities each candidate brought forward, from oversight of county schools to the decisions the board will face in the coming term. Voters now have a clearer picture of the choice before them as they prepare to cast their ballots.
