When I arrived at Tufts in 2021, I felt a strong sense of purpose. I was confident in my identity and ambitions, eager to share my aspirations during countless icebreakers that fall. My goal was clear: to major in international relations and minor in economics, with dreams of working in a think tank to stay connected to the political landscape. This self-assuredness seemed well-founded, as my passion for international affairs had been cultivated since middle school through participation in Model UN. This experience served as a vital platform for understanding diplomacy and global issues.
My journey through the International Baccalaureate program further solidified my commitment to the field, as I viewed my classes as essential preparation for a deeper exploration of international relations. However, as I navigated the complexities of higher education, I began to realize that my understanding of these subjects was evolving. Education became not just a means to an end, but a transformative process that reshaped my perspectives and aspirations.
