Students to receive personalized AI English lessons in upcoming year, Education Ministry says

The Education Ministry has confirmed that starting next school year, all high school students will receive personalized English lessons driven by artificial intelligence. The announcement builds on an earlier proposal from June, which was part of a broader initiative called Project 720 aimed at overhauling the national education system through digital tools and adaptive learning methods.

Under the new plan, AI software will assess each student's current reading, writing, and speaking levels, then generate custom exercises and feedback in real time. Teachers will still lead classes, but the technology is designed to handle repetitive drills and grammar practice, freeing up educators to focus on conversation and critical thinking. The ministry says the system will also flag struggling students early, allowing for quicker intervention.

Officials expect the rollout to begin with English, the most commonly tested foreign language, before expanding to math and science in later phases. A pilot program ran in several districts over the past year, with mixed but generally positive feedback from both students and instructors. Some teachers have raised concerns about screen time and data privacy, but the ministry insists that all student information will be stored securely and used only for academic purposes.

The move comes as part of a wider push to modernize classrooms and close achievement gaps, particularly in peripheral areas where access to private tutoring is limited. While the full cost has not been disclosed, the ministry says funding will come from existing technology budgets and state grants. Parents and school boards will receive detailed guidelines before the summer break.
