New principal named for Hickman High School

Virginia Tate, currently an assistant principal at Rock Bridge High School, has been named the next principal of Hickman High School. She will take on her new role starting next school year, replacing the outgoing administrator.

Tate brings over a decade of experience in education to the position. Before her time at Rock Bridge, she worked as a classroom teacher and later moved into administrative roles. Colleagues describe her as a collaborative leader who focuses on student achievement and building strong relationships with staff and families.

The decision comes after a search process that included input from teachers, parents, and community members. District officials highlighted Tate's track record of supporting academic programs and fostering a positive school culture. In her current role, she has been involved in curriculum development and efforts to improve graduation rates.

Tate expressed enthusiasm about the transition, noting that she looks forward to working with Hickman's students and staff. She plans to spend the coming months meeting with faculty and learning more about the school's specific needs. The change is expected to bring continuity to the district, as Tate is already familiar with the area's policies and challenges.
