As August rolls in and families start thinking about back-to-school shopping and early bedtimes, Pennsylvania lawmakers have introduced a new piece of legislation that could change how students learn about the digital world. The bill, which has just been filed, directs the Pennsylvania Board of Education to develop a set of social media literacy regulations for schools across the state.

The idea behind the bill is straightforward: kids spend hours every day on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, but most schools have no formal way of teaching them how to navigate those spaces safely.
