Multistudio has released new renderings for the Eisenhower Education Center, a 14,000-square-foot facility planned for the presidential campus in Abilene, Kansas. The design marks a significant addition to the site, which already includes the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum, and Boyhood Home.
The building is intended to serve as a modern hub for student programs, teacher workshops, and public lectures. Renderings show a single-story structure with a mix of glass, stone, and metal panels, designed to blend with the campus's existing mid-century architecture while offering a contemporary edge. Large windows are positioned to bring in natural light and provide views of the surrounding prairie landscape.
Multistudio, which has offices in Kansas City and other cities, emphasized flexibility in the layout. The center will include multipurpose classrooms, a flexible event space, and areas for collaborative learning. The design also incorporates sustainable features, such as energy-efficient systems and materials that respond to the local climate.
The project is part of a broader effort to expand educational outreach at the presidential site. Officials say the center will allow the library to host more school groups and community events without disrupting the museum experience. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with completion targeted for 2026. No cost figures have been released publicly, but the library foundation is leading fundraising efforts. The renderings are now available on the library's website for public review.
