Lynn University Students Engage in Hands-On Learning at Local Middle School

Undergraduate students from Lynn University’s Introduction to Special Education course recently had the opportunity to participate in an immersive learning experience at Congress Middle School. This Title I institution, known for its focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), provided a unique environment for future educators to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting.

During their visit, the students engaged with middle schoolers, facilitating activities that highlighted the importance of inclusive education. The Lynn University students worked closely with teachers and staff to understand the challenges and rewards of teaching in a diverse classroom. This hands-on approach not only enriched the learning experience for the college students but also fostered meaningful interactions with the younger students.

The collaboration between Lynn University and Congress Middle School exemplifies the commitment to bridging academia and real-world educational challenges, preparing future educators to address the needs of all learners effectively. The experience has left a lasting impression on both the undergraduate students and the middle schoolers, emphasizing the value of community engagement in education.
