Learn the art of jewelry making with Penn State DuBois Continuing Education

Penn State DuBois Continuing Education will host a series of jewelry making and metalsmithing courses this fall. The program is designed for both beginners and those with prior experience who want to improve their skills.

Participants will work directly with tools and materials to learn core techniques. The hands-on format allows students to create their own pieces while building a foundation in metalwork. Instruction will be led by Bobbi Shaffer Ingram, a silversmith and jewelry maker.

The courses cover a range of methods used in small-scale metal fabrication. Students can expect to practice sawing, filing, soldering, and finishing. Advanced sessions will introduce more complex approaches for those ready to move beyond the basics.

Classes are structured to give each person individual attention and room to work at their own pace. No prior experience is required for the beginner level. All necessary tools and materials will be available during sessions.
