Cyber Incident at Frontline Education Exposes Employee Data

October 9, 2026 - 22:25

A recent cybersecurity breach at Frontline Education, a major provider of software for school districts, has affected employees in the Fort Worth and Crowley school systems. The company recently began notifying clients about the incident, which occurred in August.

According to the notification sent to affected parties, an unauthorized actor may have accessed personal information belonging to employees. The data potentially compromised includes names, email addresses, home addresses, and Social Security numbers. This type of information is highly sensitive and can be used for identity theft or financial fraud if it falls into the wrong hands.

Frontline Education provides administrative software solutions to educational institutions across the country. The company has not disclosed the total number of individuals impacted or the specific method used by attackers to gain access to its systems.

School districts in the Fort Worth and Crowley areas are now working to inform their staff members about the breach. Employees whose data may have been exposed are being advised to monitor their financial accounts and credit reports for any suspicious activity.

Cybersecurity experts note that attacks on education technology providers have become increasingly common in recent years. These companies often hold large amounts of personal data for thousands of employees across multiple school districts, making them attractive targets for malicious actors.

Affected individuals should watch for phishing attempts and other suspicious communications that reference their personal information.
