Claude Moore Grant to Expand Healthcare Education in Loudoun Schools

Claude Moore Grant to Expand Healthcare Education in Loudoun Schools

A new partnership is set to bring expanded medical training opportunities to students across Loudoun County. The Loudoun Education Foundation has secured a $200,000 grant from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, money that will go directly toward boosting career and technical education offerings in the healthcare field.

The funding is designed to support both new initiatives and existing programs already running in local schools. School officials say the goal is to give students a clearer path into medical careers, from entry-level certifications to more advanced clinical skills. The grant will help cover equipment, curriculum development, and instructor training, according to the foundation.

This is not the first time the two organizations have worked together. The Claude Moore Charitable Foundation has a history of backing education projects in Northern Virginia, with a particular focus on science and health-related fields. For Loudoun, the latest contribution is seen as a way to keep pace with the region's growing demand for healthcare workers.

Educators are hopeful the money will also open doors for students who might not otherwise have access to hands-on medical training. The foundation says it plans to work closely with school staff to identify the most pressing needs and roll out the expanded offerings over the coming school year. No timeline has been set for when specific programs will launch, but district leaders expect to see the first changes within the next few months.
