BankingDive: CBA Banking School Offers ‘Immersive’ Education for Would-Be Execs

GREENVILLE, S.C. - A specialized executive program is quietly shaping the future leadership of the American banking industry, with alumni including Eastern Bank President Quincy Miller. The Consumer Bankers Association is currently hosting the 75th session of its Executive Banking School at Furman University, a program designed to provide an immersive education for professionals aiming for the C-suite.

Unlike standard corporate training, the EBS program focuses on hands-on, real-world challenges. Participants engage in simulations that cover regulatory shifts, digital transformation, and strategic risk management. The curriculum is built to mirror the pressures of running a modern bank, pushing attendees to make decisions under the same constraints they would face as top executives.

Quincy Miller, who rose through the ranks to become president of Eastern Bank, credits the program with giving him a broader perspective on the industry. The school brings together rising leaders from banks of all sizes, creating a network that often lasts throughout their careers. For the banking sector, which faces rapid technological change and evolving consumer expectations, this kind of targeted leadership development has become a critical tool. The current session in Greenville continues a tradition that has, for decades, turned promising managers into the decision-makers who will guide the industry forward.
