2026 Friedberger Education Fund Scholarship Awardees

Twenty-two graduating seniors from high schools across San Joaquin County have been selected to receive a combined total of $65,000 in scholarship awards from the Friedberger Education Fund. The recipients were chosen based on academic achievement, community involvement, and financial need.

The scholarships are intended to help students pursue higher education at universities, colleges, and vocational programs. Each awardee demonstrated a strong commitment to their studies and extracurricular activities, with many holding leadership roles in student government, sports teams, and volunteer organizations.

Fund organizers noted that the selection process was highly competitive this year, with a record number of applicants from schools throughout the county. The awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 per student, depending on individual qualifications and the specific criteria set by the fund.

Several of the winners plan to attend California state universities, while others have chosen private institutions or community college programs. A few students intend to use the funds for trade school certifications in fields like nursing and automotive technology.

The Friedberger Education Fund has been supporting local students for over a decade, with the goal of reducing financial barriers to higher education. Organizers expressed pride in the 2026 class of scholars and encouraged them to continue their hard work in the coming years. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place later this month at a community center in Stockton.
